Ron Spotts
Ron Spotts

Ron has been employed with BYU since 1999.  His first position was with the Marriott School at the Center for Entrepreneurship.  Following four exciting years in the Tanner Building Ron transferred to the JSFB where he was an Academic Advisor for 10 years with the College of Humanities.  Even though he merely crossed Campus Drive during this transition—he entered an entirely different world of the liberal arts, a world he extremely enjoyed working in and learning from.  Since 2013 Ron has been working with SAAS.  Ron currently values his position as a OneStop Counselor.  Ron completed his undergraduate degree in Retail Merchandising, and earned a Master’s in Public Administration (MPA) in 2003 from the Marriott School.  Ron is married to Shelli, a former professional wedding caterer—now a member of the English faculty at BYU.  Ron’s multi-talented wife teaches writing courses here on campus, teaches private violin lessons in their home where she also dabbles in costume design and construction for theater productions at their local high school, and at local professional theaters, and, of course—cosplay for Comic Con!  Ron and his wife are the proud (and exhausted) parents of four teen-agers.  Ron is a ‘foodie’, he has ran a few marathons, rarely watches any movies, is an avid DIY-er around his home, was recently awarded his city’s Beautification Award for landscape design and adores chocolate in any form.
